Grammar Schools that use the GL Assessment format for their 11 Plus (11+) Exam

Many Grammar schools in the country use the GL Assessment exam board to assess pupils for Year 7 entry.

GL Assessment has been helping schools assess children’s skills, academic potential and overall well-being for over 35 years.

Short for Granada Learning, GL was previously known as NFER (National Education Foundation for Education Research), which exists as a research company till this day.

At 11 Plus level, the GL exam can cover English, Maths, Spatial Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The exam is in multiple-choice format, although some schools also include some standard format assessments.
