Founded in 1954, Rickmansworth School is a co-educational, partially selective secondary school that educates around 1400 students. How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Rickmansworth School

 

The Rickmansworth School admissions process includes registration, completed through the South West Herts Schools Consortium page. The deadline for this is in June.

 

You will also be asked to complete the school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and the Hertfordshire County Council’s Common Application Form (CAF). The deadline for submitting both forms is in October of the year preceding entry.

Rickmansworth School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format

 

The Rickmansworth School 11 Plus exam consists of:

 

  • A Mathematics paper set by GL Assessment, lasting approximately 50 minutes
  • A Verbal Reasoning paper set by GL Assessment, also lasting approximately 50 minutes.

 

The topics evaluated in the test are as follows:

 

➢ Mathematics: These sections assess students’ mathematical skills, problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning. The exam will include questions that test number operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics and data handling.

 

➢ Verbal Reasoning: These sections test your child’s reasoning skills using language-based tasks, such as identifying patterns, completing analogies, solving codes and making logical deductions. They also measure your child’s ability to think critically and analyse information.

 

Once the eleven plus exam is completed, you can expect to receive your child’s results in October. The final Year 7 place allocations will be published in March.
