Introduction

Founded in 1905, Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School (TWGGS) is a girls-only selective school in Kent. Over 1,000 pupils benefit from a traditional curriculum while also achieving great success in the field of arts, as the school specialises in music. [1]

Adhering to the motto Give your best, TWGGS actively prepares girls for a prosperous and productive future. Lessons are delivered by experienced staff, allowing pupils to acquire in-depth knowledge in the areas of mathematics, science, computing and DT.

The school believes that life beyond the classroom is the key to creating a thriving, tight-knit community. Joining an extracurricular activity (such as debating, drama, sports or STEM Club) is a fantastic way for pupils to have fun, explore new interests, meet amazing people and step out of their comfort zone.

The school encourages students to strive for excellence in every pursuit they choose. It thus fosters an environment of respect, which gives every member of the TWGGS family the confidence to reach their highest potential in all aspects of school life.

The school strives to maintain the highest education standards without compromising warmth and support. Looking after the well-being of everyone comes first and foremost, and, as a result, pupils at the school feel respected, valued, and above all, content.

TWGGS prepares students for the world by equipping them with all the skills they need to be confident, involved and responsible citizens. The school was, therefore, given an “Outstanding” rating by Ofsted. [2]
