Introduction
Woldingham School is an independent school for girls, located in the former Marden Park outside the village of Woldingham, Surrey. Founded in 1842, the school is a member of the global Network of Sacred Heart Schools.
In Year 7, girls study English, mathematics, science, theology, art, computer science, design & technology, drama, geography, health education, history, French, German, Latin, Spanish, music, physical education and learning enhancement.
The broad curriculum is enhanced by a number of after-class activities, which include Brass Quintet, Cake Decorating, Creative Photoshop, Dark Room Photography, Japanese Arts & Crafts, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Debating, History Film Club, Law Society, Peace & Justice and Spanish Bilingual Blog.

Open Events for Woldingham School 11 Plus (11+) Entry
To help families become familiar with its ethos and values, the school hosts Open Mornings and Information Mornings. Open Mornings are by appointment only and are held in May and September. Spots can be booked via an online form.

Woldingham School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The admissions process begins with registration, which includes paying a registration fee of £150. The deadline for this is in September of the year preceding entry.
Prior to your daughter taking entrance tests, the school will request a reference from her current school. The entrance examination covers an online assessment, along with a creative writing paper and an interview.
To accept an offer of a place, you will be asked to pay an acceptance deposit (£1,000 for day pupils and £2,000 for boarders). The deposit is held by Woldingham School until your daughter finishes her education there.
Woldingham School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
At 11+, the school offers scholarships in the following areas: Academic ability, Art, Drama, Music, Performing Arts and Sports. The ‘Local Girl’ Scholarship is available to local, maintained primary school candidates. Scholarships are applicable for a student’s entire education at Woldingham, but only if she meets the expected standards of behaviour, attendance, performance and effort.
The school also offers means-tested financial support with the payment of school fees called Entry Bursaries. The application process will include a thorough evaluation procedure that will help the school establish the detailed financial circumstances of your household. The deadline for financial support applications is in October. Please note that bursaries are reviewed annually.
Woldingham School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Woldingham School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following assessments:
- English writing (essay)
- ISEB Common Pretest
The English paper examines writing skills, including spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The ISEB Pretest examines your child’s ability in skills such as numeracy, problem solving and vocabulary, with emphasis on how they think and how they respond to the curriculum. The test includes modules testing maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
