Wetherby Senior 13 Plus (13+) Admissions

 

The registration form can be accessed through this page, and the closing date for submitting the form is in mid-October of Year 6. Formal assessments, in the form of a bespoke entrance test, take place in November. These may be administered either at your son’s current school or at Wetherby Senior.

 

Selected 13+ applicants will be invited for an interview that takes place in February. Within three weeks of this interview, Wetherby Senior will inform you of the outcome. If your son is offered a place, you will be asked to accept it by the deadline in May. 

 

Wetherby Senior 13 Plus (13+) Scholarships and Bursaries

 

Means-tested bursaries are available to 13+ applicants. All bursaries are reviewed annually and may vary in value, depending on changes in your financial circumstances. Please note that the school’s bursary fund is limited. Therefore, not all bursary applications will be successful. 

 

Currently, the only scholarships being offered are Sixth Form Academic Scholarships. However, the plan is to offer more scholarships in the future, so it is worth keeping an eye out for updates on their website.

 

Wetherby Senior 13 Plus (13+) Deferred Exam Format

 

The Wetherby Senior 13+ exam consists of:

 

• A bespoke entrance test

 

The bespoke entrance test is taken online and consists of two parts that will assess your child’s skills in the following areas:

 

Part 1

 

– The Mathematics module comprises arithmetic and problem-solving question types, including diagrams and/or charts.

– The English module comprises reading comprehension, grammar and punctuation question types.

– The Verbal Reasoning module comprises questions that examine understanding of vocabulary and context.

– The Non-Verbal Reasoning module comprises questions that assess skills using shapes, diagrams and visual patterns.

 

Part 2

 

– The Puzzles & Problem Solving module includes interactive puzzles and diagrams. 

– The Creative Comprehension module includes multiple-choice questions/type-in based on various sources, such as texts, maps, diagrams, timetables and charts.
