Introduction

Woldingham School is an independent school for girls situated in 700 acres near the village of Woldingham, Surrey. The school was founded in 1842 by the Society of the Sacred Heart, established in France by Madeleine Sophie Barat following the French Revolution.

The Year 9 curriculum comprises mathematics, English, MFL, DT, theology, history, geography, physical education, health education, biology, chemistry and physics.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is central to the co-curricular programme, comprising four elements: skill, volunteering, physical and expedition. Woldingham organises expeditions all across the globe and provides girls with the necessary training, as well as the chance to acquire new practical skills and develop further interests.

The school’s primary aim revolves around facilitating girls’ paths towards independent, fulfilled and purposeful lives. The strong academic education, supplemented by over 80 clubs in the scope of after-class activities, ensures girls’ development into confident, compassionate and courageous young women who will become experts in their field and leave their mark in the world beyond school.
