Basic information: Millfield is a co-educational independent school in Street, Somerset. Founded in 1935, it occupies over 240 acres of land. Its Prep Department, Millfield Preparatory School, was established in 1946. 
Curriculum: Millfield Prep offers an extensive education, both academically and non-academically. Engaging lessons are delivered for English, mathematics, science, humanities, art, DT, ICT, languages, music, drama and PE, allowing pupils to fully benefit from staff’s individualised approach and the high student-teacher ratio.
Co-curricular: A broad activities programme is also on offer, incorporating an array of opportunities for physical, creative and artistic development. Ranging from judo, climbing and coding to Forest School, archery and fencing, the offerings are aimed at introducing children to new things, encouraging them to adopt a ‘have a go’ approach towards self-discovery.
Achievements: Boys and girls regularly represent the school in competitions and fixtures. Their results are outstanding, including the most recent gold medals for fencing from the British Schools Team Championships; 1st place at the prestigious Booker Cup in (boys’) hockey and the NSEA Show Jumping competition in riding, and 2nd place in swimming at the Premier League National Club Final at Millfield.

Millfield hosts a number of Open Events throughout the year. Millfield Preparatory School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
8+ is not the school’s standard entry point. To formally apply for a place in this age group, you should complete and return the registration form, which can be found at the bottom of this page. The registration fee is £175.
In the following stages of the admissions process, Millfield Prep will request a confidential reference form your child’s current school. On receipt of a satisfactory report, your child will be invited to the school to attend an interview, and then be assessed for entry.
If a place is offered, you will be asked to accept it with a payment of a deposit.
