Introduction

King Henry VIII School, Coventry, and Bablake School recently merged, forming a new facility that caters for children aged 3 to 18. Reflecting Coventry’s diversity, BKHS offers a warm and stimulating learning environment and a syllabus that extends beyond the National Curriculum requirements.

The blend of traditional and forward-looking teaching underpins the educational provision, including art, computing, languages and humanities, among others. Both form and specialist teachers provide comprehensive support to pupils, regardless of the span of their ability, allowing them to seamlessly progress through the school.

As part of its extensive offering, BKHS delivers the Forest School programme, maximising pupils’ understanding of nature and its processes and improving their endurance and resilience in a controlled environment. The wealth of co-curricular activities, including orchestra, yoga and Martial Arts, further enhances the learning experience and adds up to its momentum, resulting in fantastic non-academic outcomes.

Prior to the merger, the schools were recognised for their strong performance, broad co-curricular provision and many sporting successes. Now, through joint effort, they aim to produce lifelong learners and eminent leaders, regardless of their professional orientation and irrespective of their ethnic or financial background.
