Introduction
Blackheath High School is an independent day school for girls in Blackheath Village in southeast London. Founded in 1880 as part of the Girls’ Day School Trust, the school was a state-funded grammar school until 1976.
The Senior School curriculum comprises art, business & economics, classics, computer science, design & technology, drama, English, geography, history, mathematics, MFL, music, physical education, psychology, religious studies and sciences.
Within the co-curricular programme, girls choose from a vast number of activities such as Amnesty International, Creative Writing, Debating, French Film, Performing Arts, Politics and Psychology.
The school’s focus is on cultivating girls’ courage and intellectual curiosity as they are prepared for the world beyond school. Small class sizes, complemented with a vibrant atmosphere characterised by a love of learning, enable girls to adopt the belief that there are no limits to what they can achieve.

Why do some of the recommendations above show me grammar school papers?
The main difference between independent and grammar school papers is the question format. Independent schools usually assess with standard format questions, which means students need to write out full answers. Grammar schools usually use multiple-choice format questions.
Whilst Blackheath High School is an independent school, they actually use the grammar school (multiple-choice) format for their exam, which is why multiple-choice practice papers are included in the recommendations above.
Our practice tests aim to show what sort of questions were included in Blackheath High School 11+ past papers. The information provided about Blackheath High School was believed to be correct at the time of publishing. However, please be aware of future changes. We advise you to contact the school directly if you are unsure of anything. School contact details are provided within the post.
