Introduction
Basic information: Brighton College is an independent boarding and day school in East Sussex. Established in 1845, it educates both boys and girls in line with the highest of standards and has thus recently received the award School of the Decade by the Sunday Times. [1]
Curriculum: Life in the Prep is characterised by abundance, reflected in both the academic and non-academic provision. The curriculum features a rich selection of subject options, including mathematics, Mandarin, French, humanities and DT, and lessons for these are delivered effectively to match big expectations.
Co-curricular: As a rule, Brighton is committed to facilitating children’s all-round growth and it offers a varied programme of activities for this purpose. Eco Warriors, board games, musical theatre, gardening, Taekwondo and knitting are some of the programme’s key features, boosting pupils’ understanding and skills in parallel with their social development. [2]
Centred on mutual respect, Brighton’s ethos promotes inclusivity and ensures that children from various backgrounds benefit from its exemplary offering. The school and parents work closely to address the needs of the cohort, who in return adopt maturity well beyond their years and progress into further education as independent thinkers.
