To produce the actual questions, we collaborated with the official Non-Verbal Reasoning question writer for GL Assessment 11+ exams. GL Assessment is the predominant Non-Verbal Reasoning exam board used by Grammar and Independent schools.

How should I use this Masterclass for maximum benefit?

 

There are two different strategies that we would recommend, depending on how far along you are in your 11+ journey:

 

Strategy 1: If your child is about to start Year 5, we would recommend working through the Masterclass from the beginning, watching the lessons in order. Over the course of a few months, your child will become familiar with all the key question types. By the time they complete the Masterclass, they will be prepared and confident enough to deal with virtually any Non-Verbal Reasoning question.

 

Strategy 2: If your child is about to start Year 6, we would recommend taking a more targeted approach to maximise the time you have left. Once your child has taken one of our NVR practice tests, make a list of the questions that they got incorrect or found challenging.

 

Then focus first on the video lessons that deal specifically with these questions. For example, if your child found the question below from Test 1 challenging, we would recommend watching the Masterclass lesson: Analogies – Type 7 – Position, which deals with these types of questions.
