Basic information: Alleyn’s School is an independent co-ed day school in Dulwich, London. Founded in 1882, it has educated a vast number of notable alumni, including a Nobel Prize laureate. [1]

Open Events provide families with the unique opportunity to learn more about the school’s provision, including their pastoral care and teaching philosophy. Alleyn’s School 5 Plus (5+) Admissions


The registration deadline for admission into the Junior School is in early February of the calendar year of entry. The assessments will be held the following month. 


Please note that registration includes a payment of a non-refundable fee, and acceptance of a place includes a payment of a deposit.

Scholarships and bursaries are not available to 5+ applicants.


Alleyn’s School 5 Plus (5+) Exam Format


The Alleyn’s School 5 Plus (5+) exam consists of the following assessments:


  • English 
  • Mathematics 
  • Reasoning


The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.


The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
