Who are these practice tests for?
They are for girls preparing for the Stage 1 Henrietta Barnett exam.
How will these practice tests benefit my daughter?
The Henrietta Barnett School is one of the most sought after schools in the country. Last year, 2900 girls competed for just 100 places, which means your daughter’s exam scores need to be in the 95th percentile or above to succeed.
The school’s 11+ Exam has two stages. The first stage consists of tests in English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. It is created by GL Assessment.
Students who do well in this first stage test are invited back for another round of testing in October.
The scores from both rounds of testing are then combined to form an overall score and rank for each girl.
Therefore, doing well in the first stage test is vital not only to make it through to the second round but also to ensure your daughter’s overall ranking is as high as possible.
That’s where our new practice tests will come in handy. They are designed to replicate the format, style, question types and timings of the Henrietta Barnett school Stage 1 test.
Each practice test contains separate, timed sections for English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The NVR test is further divided into timed subsections, just like in the actual Henrietta Barnett exam.
Across these practice tests, we’ve covered all the key question types that have come up recently. For example, Shuffled Sentences appeared in last year’s Verbal Reasoning test so we’ve made sure to include this new GL question type in some of the practice tests.
We’ve used the same timings as the actual exam from last year. Overall, each full practice test takes around 1 hour to complete.
We’ve also included Example and Practice questions for each section as well as replica answer sheets. This ensures your daughter can familiarise herself with exactly what to expect on exam day. In an entrance test as competitive as this, it’s worth paying attention to even the smallest details.
Each of the ten practice tests is pitched at the same difficulty level so you can accurately benchmark your daughter’s progress as she works through them.
