Open Events for Wimbledon High School 11 Plus (11+) Entry
The school hosts School Day Open Events, offering prospective families the opportunity to visit on a normal working day and see the school in action. Saturday Open Mornings are packed with activities, including tours of facilities led by current pupils. School Tours have a similar format. Wimbledon High School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Applications for Year 7 places open in April of the year preceding entry and close in early November. The registration fee is £125.
Subject to your daughter’s successful performance in the entrance examinations and interview, she may be offered a place (in February). The school hosts School Tours for all offer holders later the same month.
Please note that the offer should be accepted by the deadline in March.
Wimbledon High School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Based on her performance in the entrance exam, your daughter may be considered for an Academic Scholarship, typically valued at 5-10% of fees. No separate application for this award is required.
Girls with an aptitude for music will be considered for a Music Scholarship, while those with an interest in sports will be considered for a Sports Scholarship. Please note that applications for these must be submitted by the deadline in early November (of Year 6). More details are available here.
Wimbledon High offers means-tested bursaries to families who struggle with paying the fees. The amount of these awards will depend on your financial circumstances and will be subject to annual review. A bursary may cover 100% of fees, although in some cases it can extend to 110%, covering costs for uniform, lunches, travel and other expenses.

Wimbledon High School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Stage 1 exam at Wimbledon High School covers:
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
The Verbal Reasoning paper is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning paper measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.

Candidates who are successful in the Stage 1 exam will be invited back to the school to attend the Stage 2 exam or Creative Assessment Day. As part of the range of activities planned for this day, your daughter’s literacy and numeracy will be tested through short English and Maths assessments.
