Introduction
Wimbledon High School is an independent girls’ day school in Wimbledon, South West London. Opened in 1880, it is part of the network of Girls’ Day School Trust schools. [1]
In the Junior School, the curriculum maximises girls’ skills in the areas of literacy, numeracy, humanities, MFL, science and technology.
Promoting agile thinking and problem-solving, the school centres its educational philosophy on forward-looking teaching methods. In line with this, its campus was recently expanded with STEAM Tower, comprising state-of-art innovation & collaboration hubs and science labs.
Numerous sporting activities are on offer, securing pupils’ physical and overall well-being through engagement in pursuits such as gymnastics, swimming, athletics, tennis and cricket.

Wimbledon High School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
7+ is not one of the WHS formal entry points. It is considered an occasional vacancy and the admissions process for this age group begins with registration via the online admissions portal.
You will then be asked to make a formal application, whilst your daughter will be invited to the school to be assessed. Besides sitting exams, she will also take part in a number of classes and interactive group exercises.
The examinations will focus on Maths and English. Unless otherwise specified, your daughter will not be asked to complete Reasoning tests.

Wimbledon High School 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The Wimbledon High 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Maths
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and her oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including her knowledge of times tables.
There may also be a Reasoning test.
