Basic information: The Royal Grammar School Worcester is a co-ed independent day school in Worcestershire. Operational since before 1291, it is among the oldest day schools in the country. RGS Worcester boasts three prep departments, including RGS Springfield. [1]

RGS Springfield 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
A formal application for a place includes a payment of a £45 registration fee, which is non-refundable. As part of the admissions process, RGS may obtain a reference from your child’s current school.
Taster days are arranged for all 8+ applicants, during which they will take part in lessons. Please note that the entry procedure also includes assessments, and, subject to a positive outcome, your child may receive an offer. Places are reserved with a payment of a £100 fee.

RGS Springfield 8 Plus (8+) Exam Format
The RGS Springfield 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Verbal Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
