Basic information: King’s Hall School is a co-educational day and boarding school. Located within the parish of Cheddon Fitzpaine, just north of Taunton, it occupies a Grade II* listed building, also known as Pyrland Hall. 
Curriculum: King’s Hall offers a broad curriculum, including English, mathematics, science, languages, art and humanities, among others. King’s Hall School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
Registration forms should be completed and returned to the Head of Admissions together with a £100 registration fee. In this way, your child will be considered for the 8+ assessments. As part of the entry procedure, their school report and references will be requested.
Offers of places are made the week following assessment day, to be accepted with a payment of a deposit.

The King’s Hall School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- Verbal Reasoning
The English exam examines comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and spelling. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
