Introduction
Bournemouth Collegiate School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school in Dorset. The Senior School campus is located in the Bournemouth suburb of Southbourne.
The broad curriculum covers subjects such as art & design, science, computer science, drama, design technology, history, MFL, music, physical education, religious studies and sports.

Senior School Open Mornings will take place in May, October, December and March. Booking can be made via the school’s website.

Bournemouth Collegiate School 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Following a visit to the school, you should proceed to register your child and pay a £100 Registration Fee. The admissions process includes an informal interview with the Headmaster, Taster Days and an entrance examination (set in January). A copy of your child’s two most recent school reports and current-school references will also be requested.

Although BCS is a non-selective school, it uses entrance examinations to evaluate your child’s suitability and their potential, especially in the context of awarding scholarships.
Upon successful performance in all key stages of the admissions process, you may receive an offer in February before September entry. The Offer pack will include an Offer Letter, an Acceptance Form and Joining Forms, to be completed and returned to the school. You will also be expected to pay a deposit.

The Bournemouth Collegiate School 11+ entrance examination consists of the following papers:
- English (45 mins)
- Mathematics (45 mins)
The English paper examines both comprehension and writing skills, including inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper will include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.
