Bournemouth Collegiate School (BCS) is a co-educational independent day and boarding school which occupies two sites in Dorset. The Prep School is located in Poole. [1]
In BCS Prep, the teaching for the core academic subjects English, mathematics, science and humanities is enhanced with lessons for a number of additional disciplines, such as ICT, MFL, music, performing arts and DT.
Sporting opportunities allow children to grow in appreciation of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the advantages of teamwork. Pupils benefit from a number of facilities, including a 20-metre swimming pool, a large sports field, a sports hall, tennis courts and netball pitches.
The recent ISI inspection for the Prep School concluded that the educational and pastoral care provision there is superb, rating the school as ‘excellent’ across all assessed areas. According to the report, pupils actively engage in lessons and approach learning with enthusiasm, making consistent efforts to suit the high expectations set by staff. [2]
BCS’ educational philosophy incorporates the 4 Cs: Curiosity, Creativity, Commitment and Community – values that complement the cultural diversity and the spirit of inclusiveness pervading the school’s community. Celebrating differences and innovation, BCS inspires an exploration of ideas, encouraging pupils to be inquisitive while striving for success.
