Introduction
The Blue Coat School is a preparatory school in Birmingham. Founded in 1722, it occupies 15 acres of gardens and playing fields. [1]

Open Events for The Blue Coat School, Birmingham, 7 Plus (7+) Entry
The Blue Coat School hosts Open Mornings with the aim of introducing prospective families with everything on offer, including facilities and members of the teaching staff. Current pupils will lead the tours of campus, during which you and your child will have the opportunity to thoroughly explore its features.

To enter Year 3, your child will have to attend the school’s Entrance Test Day. The deadline for applications is in January of Year 2.
Recent school reports will be requested. Please note that siblings of current pupils, or pupils with provisional places into Nursery, will be given priority.
The Blue Coat School, Birmingham, 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Blue Coat offers Academic Scholarships to applicants who have performed exceptionally well in the entrance tests. These awards cover up to 25% of fees and don’t require a separate application.
Music Scholarships are also available. Valued at up to 25%, they are awarded on the basis of entrance test results and a musical ability of Grade 2 level or equivalent. Please note that your child will be asked to attend an audition. A written report from their music teacher will be obtained.
Means-tested bursaries are offered to families in need of financial assistance and they cover up to 100% of fees. The evaluation process will take into account your total household income, equity and number of siblings, and will include a home visit.
