Introduction
Truro School is a co-ed independent day and boarding school in the city of Truro, Cornwall. Its Prep School, originally named Treliske School, was founded in 1936. [1]
Academically, the school is fully invested in broadening pupils’ academic and non-academic horizons. The curriculum is rich and stimulating, including a number of disciplines such as English, maths, science, DT, art, music, drama, PE, PSHE, computing, humanities and MFL.
Beyond the classroom, children get to explore further interests and discover new passions, extending their skills while developing both socially and personally. Clubs on offer range from LAMDA, fencing and tennis to judo, chess and ballet.
According to ISI, the quality of pupils’ overall achievements is excellent, adding up to the perfect balance pervading the school’s warm community, established between the academically challenging environment and the many opportunities for fun pursuits. [2]
The ethos is underpinned by Christian values, facilitating learning and cultivating unique abilities and talents, whatever they may be, enabling children to gain the confidence to prosper in the years to come, in line with the school’s motto: To be rather than to seem to be.
