Malvern St James is an independent day and boarding school for girls in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. Founded in 1893, the school has recently been rated by ISI as ‘excellent’ across all inspected areas. [1]

The best way to familiarise your daughter with the school’s friendly community is to attend their Open Days. Malvern St James | MSJ Prep 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
In the initial stage of the admissions process, you will be asked to register your daughter with the school. Online forms, which can be accessed through this page, should be submitted with a non-refundable fee of £150.
Confidential references and reports form your daughter’s current school will be requested. In the following weeks, she will be invited to the school for a two-day Taster Session, during which she will be both formally and informally assessed.
If a place is offered, the school will ask you to complete and submit a Parent Contract Acceptance Form, an Acceptance Deposit of £800 and New Starter forms.

Malvern St James | MSJ Prep 7 Plus (7+) Exam Format
The MSJ Prep 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
- Reasoning (Verbal and Non-Verbal)
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including her knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the exam is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning test measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
