Wellingborough Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
In order for your child to be eligible for entry, you should register them with the school using a registration form, which should be submitted with a £75 non-refundable fee. As part of the admissions process, Wellingborough Prep will obtain references and reports from your child’s current school.
8+ assessments typically take place on Taster Day, scheduled at a mutually convenient date. If successful, your child may receive an offer of a place, to be confirmed with a payment of a £500 deposit.

The Wellingborough Prep School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers
- Creative Writing (essay)
The CAT4 is an online test that assesses Verbal, Non-Verbal, Spatial and Quantitative Reasoning skills.
The Verbal Reasoning exam is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning exam measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
The Creative Writing assessment examines writing skills, including punctuation and spelling.
