Lingfield College Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
Subject to availability of places, the school will invite registered 8+ applicants to the school so that they can be assessed. Early registration is encouraged. Please note that the fee of £110 is non-refundable.
The 8+ assessments test skills across two areas of the curriculum. As part of the admissions process, references and reports from your child’s current school will be requested.
If Lingfield Prep makes an offer of a place, you will be asked to secure it with a payment of a £500 deposit.
Lingfield College Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Scholarships and Bursaries
8+ applicants can apply for an Academic Scholarship. The assessment process will include written tests (Maths, English and Reasoning) and practical activities. With their behaviour and achievement, scholars will be expected to set an example for other children.

The Lingfield College Prep School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
For 8+ scholarship applicants:
The Verbal Reasoning section of the Academic Scholarship Reasoning test is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Academic Scholarship Reasoning test measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
