Introduction

Wellingborough School is a co-educational independent day school in the market town of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire. Founded in 1595, it is one of the oldest schools in the country.

In Year 7, pupils take lessons in art, design & technology, English & drama, geography, history, ICT, Latin, mathematics, MFL, music, physical education, religious studies, science and learning development.

Within the co-curricular programme, activities range from choir groups, string quartets, gardening, mindfulness and crafts, to sports clubs, art, dance, cookery and science. The STEAM club was formed for girls, in order to inspire them to explore the use of computer science in other areas of the curriculum.

The extensive range of opportunities available for pupils both inside and outside of the classroom enables them to grow into well-rounded young adults characterised by self-confidence, resilience and an awareness of their own emotions. Furthermore, the school’s provision of a strong theoretical and practical education ensures the development of numerous skills and virtues, benefitting Wellingburians well beyond school.

Interviews

11+ Interviews – The Complete Guide

Why do some of the recommendations above show me grammar school papers?

The main difference between independent and grammar school papers is the question format. Independent schools usually assess with standard format questions, which means students need to write out full answers. Grammar schools usually use multiple-choice format questions.

Whilst Wellingborough School is an independent school, they actually use the grammar school (multiple-choice) format for some of their exams, which is why they are included in the recommendations above.

Our practice tests aim to show what sort of questions were included in Wellingborough School 11+ past papers. The information provided about Wellingborough School was believed to be correct at the time of publishing. However, please be aware of future changes. We advise you to contact the school directly if you are unsure of anything. School contact details are provided within the post.
