The admissions process for 12+ entry includes the following steps:

 

  • Registration: Complete the registration by the deadline in October of the year preceding entry. At this stage, you will be asked to indicate your school preferences, confirm eligibility for Pupil Premium and Free School Meals, and disclose any medical or social needs that may impact your child’s ranking.
  • Late Transfer test invitation: Upon successful registration, your son will receive a formal invitation to take the Late Transfer test. Attendance must be confirmed by a specified date in December.
  • Late Transfer test: The test evaluates skills across three broad areas using GL-style questions. It is scheduled for February and lasts approximately one hour.
  • Results: The results of the Late Transfer test will be communicated in March.

Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School 12 Plus (12+) Exam Format – Late Transfer

 

The Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School 12+ entrance examination consists of the following tests:

 

  • Mathematics (GL)
  • Verbal Reasoning (GL)
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning (GL)

 

The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper will include multiple-choice questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.

 

The multiple-choice Verbal Reasoning paper is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
