Introduction
Collegiate School, formerly known as Colston’s School, is an independent school in Bristol founded in 1710. It occupies an extensive site with a number of sporting facilities, including an athletics field with pavilion, six rugby pitches, a floodlit all-weather hockey pitch, table tennis facilities, a sports hall with four badminton courts/ basketball court and an axe throwing range. The broad curriculum is taught by expert staff, educating pupils in the areas of English, mathematics, science, art, computing, DT, drama, MFL, humanities, music, PSHE, PE and RS Forest School is also included in the curriculum, and enables pupils to acquire practical experiences, grow in confidence and familiarise themselves with the natural world through lessons delivered in the school’s very own woodland.
Engaging children in further activities which benefit them in the long run, the school provides a vast range of clubs and workshops, such as chess, choir, art, Chinese, cooking, speech & drama, percussion, ICT and climbing.
The school’s ethos is in line with the holistic character of education on offer, aiming to meet the varied talents and backgrounds of pupils enrolled.
