Introduction
AKS Lytham (also known as AKS) is an independent, co-educational day school located on the Fylde in Lancashire. Noted for its high standards, AKS was formed from the merger of two schools: King Edward VII & Queen Mary School (KEQMS) and Arnold School. It currently occupies a 35-acre campus. [1]
Lessons are delivered by both class teachers and specialist staff, allowing children in the Prep Department to benefit from excellent academic and non-academic provision. Subjects range from English, maths, technology, science and humanities to computing, RE, art & design, PSHE and MFL.
Aiming to meet the many interests and gifts of children across a range of disciplines, the school offers a rich programme of co-curricular activities, including everything from chess, coding, cookery and athletics to choir, hockey, judo and LAMDA.
Pupils’ exceptionally strong achievements are mainly due to the school’s efforts to boost not only their academic abilities, but also to develop their character, enabling them to grow in self-awareness, resilience and personal responsibility. AKS Lytham 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
If you wish your child to be registered for 7+ entry, you should reach out to the school’s Registrar. 7+ assessments take place on Taster Day, arranged at a mutually convenient date. Academic references may also be taken into consideration.
Please note that the Prep school may require a period of attendance to be on a probationary basis. The offer letter will state the initial duration of the probationary period, which can be extended if considered appropriate and necessary.
