Introduction

Founded in 1886, Talbot Heath School is an independent girls’ day and boarding Church of England school. It occupies a beautiful campus near Talbot Woods in Bournemouth, featuring a rich range of facilities, including a swimming pool, drama studios, a designated Music centre and a brand new STEAM Hub. [1] [2

The syllabus extensively prepares girls for their future academic endeavours: lessons for a number of disciplines are vigorously delivered by experienced staff who tailor their teaching provision in accordance with pupils’ individual needs.

After classes, girls make the most out of the many enrichment activities on offer, which help them perfect their existing skills and discover new interests. The programme’s most popular feature is the Duke of Edinburgh Award, through which they embark on expeditions to far-off countries, learn about healthy competition and boost their capacity for outdoor learning. [3]

Sports play a vital role in the school’s educational philosophy, whose primary goal is to secure the well-being and health of each girl on campus. For this purpose, Talbot Heath runs Swimming and Tennis Academies, the latter being recognised as the No.4 tennis school in the UK for girls.

Pastorally, the school aims high, providing girls with a comfort zone through extensive and comprehensive care, often in collaboration with parents. The warm community is proud of its inclusive character and welcoming ethos, allowing girls to learn and develop at their own pace, yet always perform in accordance with the school’s high academic standards.
