Introduction
St Mary Magdalene Academy is an academy on Liverpool Road, London. Established in 2007, it is recognised as a high achieving North London school. [1]
All Year 7 pupils follow a broad curriculum encompassing a wide range of subject areas, including English, maths, science, geography, history, RS, PE, MFL, drama, music, art and Chinese language & culture. St Mary Magdalene Academy 11 Plus (11+) Aptitude Test
To apply for Year 7 entry through the Aptitude Test, you should complete and submit the application form, found near the bottom of this page. The application deadline is in July of the year preceding entry.
The Aptitude Test has two sections: Verbal Reasoning and Creative Writing. In the Verbal Reasoning test, your child will be expected to score 120 or above. If they score below 120, their writing paper will not be marked.
Offers of places are made in October, following the examination.

St Mary Magdalene Academy 11 Plus (11+) Exam, Aptitude Test Format
The St Mary Magdalene Academy 11+ exam consists of the following tests:
- English writing paper
- Verbal Reasoning
The English paper examines writing skills, including spelling and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The Verbal Reasoning paper is primarily designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
