Introduction

Robert Gordon’s College is a co-ed independent school for day pupils in Aberdeen, Scotland. Adhering to the motto Be all you can be, it has produced a number of notable alumni since its founding in 1750, including a Nobel Prize recipient. [1]

Pupils at the College are encouraged to make a difference, immersing in learning that’s both competitive and holistic. Teachers deliver engaging lessons for mathematics, languages, technology and many other relevant disciplines, maximising the cohort’s academic potential and achievements.

Partnerships between school and home are strong, which helps students feel safe to explore their abilities. Non-academic development is one of the staples of school life, underpinned by a varied co-curricular programme that encompasses over 120 clubs and societies, including CCF, chess, basketball, tennis and Model United Nations. [2

At Robert Gordon’s College, the principles of inclusion and fairness are fundamental to school life. Pastoral initiatives foster a culture of transparency and mutual respect, while the school’s own Wellbeing Centre caters for pupils’ physical and mental health needs in line with the highest standards. [3]

Robert Gordon’s College enables students from diverse backgrounds to excel, placing compassion at the heart of all endeavours. Expert staff encourage boys and girls to define their own academic goals and to pursue them with determination, as highlighted by an impressive 95.1% of pupils obtaining grades in the A-C range in recent National 5 exams.
