Myddelton College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located in Denbigh in North Wales. It occupies the site of a former girls’ school, Howell’s School, founded in 1859.
The Year 7 curriculum covers English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history, religion & politics, Spanish, art, music and technology.

The school provides no information regarding open events. However, it does recommend that both students and parents attend a face-to-face meeting with the Admissions Team.

Myddelton College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The admissions process begins with registration, which is done via the school’s website. You should to fill in the appropriate registration form and submit it along with supporting documents, such as your child’s most recent school report, academic reference and details of any examinations taken.
The 11+ Entrance Assessment is held in January/February of the year of entry.
Accepting an offer of a place includes paying a deposit of £900 to secure the place. The deposit is refunded in your child’s last term at the school, £100 of which will be deducted to join the Myddelton College Alumni. If you wish, you may donate the remaining to the Myddelton College Bursary Foundation.
Myddelton College 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarship Awards are limited to 10% of fees. If your child obtains more than one type of scholarship, the combined value of all awards will not exceed 30%. However, the value of the award can be enhanced with the addition of a means-tested bursary.
The school offers Academic, Art, Drama, ICT, Music and Sports Scholarships, along with the Denbigh Scholarship and the Hugh Myddelton Scholarship.
The scholarship and bursary application should be submitted together with a short personal statement from your child (approximately 300 words), covering their ambitions, relevant skills, experience and achievements. For more details please read the school’s Admissions Policy.
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of your child’s academic performance throughout the admissions process, as well as your financial circumstances.
Upon request, the school will send you a financial assessment form and guidance regarding its completion. The evaluation process may include a home visit.
Bursary awards are reviewed annually and may vary, depending on the financial information you’ve provided.
There are two bursaries available: the Key Worker Bursary and the Myddelton Bursary. The application should include details regarding all sources of income, outgoings, assets, liabilities, the value and council tax band of the family home and the size of your family.
