Introduction
Myddelton College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located in Denbigh in North Wales. It occupies the site of a former girls’ school, Howell’s School, founded in 1859.
The Year 7 curriculum covers English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history, religion & politics, Spanish, art, music and technology.
Myddelton College’s pupils compete in national teams in various sports, including triathlon, swimming, gymnastics, horse riding, sailing, climbing and ice skating, thus developing discipline and leadership skills whilst remaining physically fit.

Myddelton College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
The admissions process begins with registration. Application forms can be accessed through this page and should be submitted with a £50 registration fee, which is non-refundable. The 11+ entrance assessment is typically held in January/February of the year of entry.
Accepting an offer of a place includes paying a deposit of £500 to secure the place. This is refunded during your child’s last term at the school. Once you pay the deposit, the College will send you a full joining pack.
Myddelton College 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarship awards are limited to 10% of fees. However, the value of the award can be enhanced with the addition of a means-tested bursary.
The school offers Academic, Art, Drama, ICT, Music and Sports Scholarships, along with The Myddelton Award. The scholarship and bursary application should be submitted together with a short personal statement from your child (approximately 300 words), covering their ambitions, relevant skills, experience and achievements.
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of your child’s academic performance throughout the admissions process, as well as your financial circumstances. Upon request, the school will send you a financial assessment form and guidance regarding its completion. The evaluation process may include a home visit.
The application should include details regarding all sources of income, outgoings, assets, liabilities, the value and council tax band of the family home and the size of your family. Please note that bursary awards are reviewed annually and may vary, depending on the financial information you’ve provided.

- An online test examining skills in English, maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning
