Introduction
Long Close School is a co-educational, independent school located in Upton, Berkshire. Founded in 1940, it is operated by the Cognita Group. [1]
Besides the core subjects English and mathematics, the Prep School curriculum also covers engaging lessons in science, Spanish, humanities, ICT, music, art & design, drama and PSHE. Long Close Prep School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
In order to be considered for entry, your child needs to be registered with the school first. Online forms, which can be accessed through this page, should be submitted together with a £100 fee.
Once registered, your child will receive an invitation to attend a Taster day, during which they will be assessed. If a place is offered, you will be required to secure it with a payment of a £600 deposit, refunded in your child’s final term at the school.
Long Close Prep School 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are only available to Senior School applicants. Bursaries are not available.

The Long Close Prep School 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Mathematics
The English exam tests comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
