Ibstock Place School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
The registration deadline for entry into the Prep School is in November of the year preceding entry. However, since 8+ is not the school’s standard point of entry, you are strongly advised to reach out to the school first and discuss availability.
The 8+ assessment will examine your child’s skills across three areas. There will also be an interview with the Head (or their deputy).
The deadline for acceptance of places is in March. Please note that to secure your child’s place, you will be asked to pay a £1,750 deposit.

The Ibstock Place School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

- Reasoning
The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
The Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning exam is designed to test and assess logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Reasoning exam measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge.
