Normanhurst School is a co-ed independent school in North Chingford, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It is part of the four schools in the Oak-Tree Group, located within a 6-mile radius on the South West Essex/North London borders. [1]

Its Junior School offers a broad curriculum, aimed at maximising pupils’ literacy and numeracy skills, along with their knowledge in the areas of science, humanities, French, ICT, art and DT. Children’s physical wellbeing is boosted through lessons for PE & games and a number of club activities, including fencing, karate, running and yoga.

Providing an array of performing art opportunities, Normanhurst develops pupils’ creativity, allowing them to explore their knowledge of musical theory and different drama techniques. As such, the school encourages participation in annual school productions and festival events, making children feel comfortable about performing on stage. [2]

The ethos is underpinned by a range of social and moral values, which ensure that pupils leave school with a clear sense of right from wrong. Demonstrating tolerance and a profound understanding of differences, they access the next stages of their lives with a strong conviction to do good and a firm will to excel.
