What is Critical Thinking?

 

Critical Thinking involves the analysis of facts, evidence, observations and arguments to form correct judgements.

 

Why is it important?

 

A growing number of schools are recognising the value of Critical Thinking and its importance.

 

It is therefore increasingly common to see Critical Thinking questions form part of a school’s admissions process.

 

This is often assessed at the interview stage but it is also now featured in the written examination process.

 

For example, the new London Consortium 11+ Exam will feature a section assessing Critical Thinking & Analysis. These new packs will provide ideal preparation for this.

 

How will these packs benefit my child?

 

Many students will have had no direct experience with Critical Thinking as they progress from Year 5 into Year 6.

 

These new packs will provide valuable familiarisation of the key question types and concepts that could come up in their 11+ Exam.
