Introduction
Lingfield College is a co-educational independent school situated in Surrey. It was founded in 1940 by three members of the Roman Catholic School Sisters of Notre Dame as an all-girls school.
Year 7 pupils take lessons in maths, Science, English, drama, music, computer science, French, Spanish/German, PE and humanities.
Many students at Lingfield seize the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. The school organises expeditions and trips abroad such as the Geographical trip, History and Art expeditions, Language excursions and sports tours, including Football and Hockey to Holland and Cricket and Netball to Barbados.
At Lingfield, socially responsible values are promoted within a community that’s fully accepting of children from all backgrounds. Open Events for Lingfield College 11 plus (11+) Entry
The School’s Open Day Events offer an excellent opportunity for you and your child to see everything Lingfield has to offer, and include an extensive range of displays and demonstrations. You will also meet with existing parents, students and staff members.

The Admissions Office is open to arranging private tours of the school and a meeting with the Headmaster, as well.
Lingfield College 11 Plus (11+) Admissions
Entry into Year 7 at Lingfield Senior School is based on your child’s performance in the entrance examinations, which take place in the January preceding entry.
The admissions process includes an informal interview with the Headmaster and a reference from your child’s current school.
Offers of places are also subject to a positive current-school reference. Offers are sent out in February and you will have two weeks to accept by returning a signed contract and paying the required deposit against the first term’s fees.
Lingfield College 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholarship examination results. For external candidates, the assessment is set in January and consists of an advanced mathematics paper (45 mins), an advanced English Comprehension paper (45 mins) and a Creative Writing paper (30 mins).
Art, Drama, Music and Sport scholarships are also available. Your child can be awarded a scholarship in a maximum of two disciplines.
The Lingfield Award is automatically offered to the top academic scholar from the local area who sat the Year 7 entrance exam and who has applied and met the criteria for a means-tested bursary. This award covers up to 100% of tuition fees.

The Lingfield College entrance assessment consists of the following papers:
- English comprehension/English writing
- Maths
- Verbal Reasoning
The English paper examines comprehension and writing skills, testing inference, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. The maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills.
