It’s just been announced that Henrietta Barnett School (HBS) will now use GL Assessment papers for their first round test for 11 plus entry. Previously, they had used CEM. They are now more in line with the examination style of the other competitive grammar schools in the area.
The new first round test will cover Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and English. Full details on the new admission policy can be read here. They will also be introducing a catchment area of 3 miles, which will impact rankings in the second round test.
The top 300 student from the first round test will make it through to the second round. Last year, Henrietta Barnett had around 3,000 applicant for Year 7 entry.
We have updated our recommendations for the HBS 11 plus exam. Our practice papers are fully up to date and cover all known GL question types and styles. Our latest English papers covers split-style comprehensions and our Verbal Reasoning papers cover new GL question types that came up last year for the first time.
