Introduction
Denstone College is a co-ed, independent, boarding and day school in Denstone, Uttoxeter (Staffordshire). Although its Prep School was established in 1902, it currently occupies a new facility at the Denstone College site. [1] [2]
Academically, pupils flourish in the following disciplines: English, maths, science, humanities, ICT, MFL, PSHCE, art & DT and music.
Beyond the classroom, they get to participate in an array of extracurricular activities, ranging from LAMDA, tennis, archery and chess to cookery, water polo, golf and orienteering.
The pastoral care provision is outstanding, complementing the culture of ‘caring and openness’ among pupils. The involvement of parents and wider family in children’s progress and schooling is strongly encouraged by staff and firmly embedded in the school’s ethos.

The school hosts Open Week in September, welcoming prospective families on campus for an extensive range of activities. Activities Mornings also take place, allowing you and your child to meet staff members and ask questions of interest. Pre-booking for these events is essential.
Denstone College Preparatory School 7 Plus (7+) Admissions
Registration forms for 7+ applicants can be found on the school’s webpage. The registration fee of £100 is non-refundable.
Following the registration, the school will get in touch to arrange a Taster Day for your child, during which they will be assessed in the areas of Maths and English. School reports and a reference from their current school will also be requested.
Accepting a place includes a payment of a £400 deposit, refundable in your child’s last term at the school.
Denstone College Preparatory School 7 Plus (7+) Scholarships and Bursaries
DCPS offers means-tested bursarial support to children whose families are not able to afford the full fees. Bursaries are subject to annual review and can increase/decrease in value, depending on changes in your financial circumstances.

The Denstone College Prep 7 Plus (7+) exam consists of the following assessments:

The English exam examines comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading and their oral skills.
The Maths exam assesses your child’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including their knowledge of times tables.
