Introduction

Alleyn’s School is a prestigious independent day school in Dulwich, London. Established in 1619 by Edward Alleyn, it caters for a mixed cohort of around 1300 students in line with exceptional academic and pastoral standards. [1]

Alleyn’s pupils are encouraged to be inquisitive both in and out of the classroom, exploring their learning capacity across a multitude of disciplines, such as humanities, PE, music and languages.

The school’s broad provision is supported by spacious and modern facilities, including an IT room, a large library, an art & design technology studio, extensive playing fields and a beautiful School Garden. Co-curricular clubs further enhance the unique learning experience that inspires children to build upon their skills, boasting everything from cricket and chess to LAMDA and Greek Club. [2

Trips to museums, galleries and locations of historical significance are organised regularly, helping the cohort improve their social proficiency and cultural understanding. Their sense of aesthetics is meticulously cultivated, resulting in a refined appreciation for all good things in life.

Pastorally, the school endeavours to create a nurturing and secure setting where both the well-being and holistic growth of every student are carefully preserved. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that the learning atmosphere promotes moral and physical development, allowing children to progress through the school with both character and resilience.
