Red House School is a co-educational, independent school in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees. It was founded in 1929 by a group of parents with the aim of providing the best education possible for their children. Recently, Red House achieved a 99% A*-C grade across all GCSE results.
Pupils study art, design & technology, sciences, religious studies, physical education, music, modern languages, mathematics, computing, English, history and geography. Entry at 11+ is dependent upon performance in an entrance assessment and interview, as well as the quality of your child’s current-school reference. The assessment is designed to assess their potential and is taken during Taster Day.

Red House School 11 Plus (11+) Scholarships and Bursaries
The school offers bursaries to children from low-income families. In order for the school to determine the level of assistance required, bursaries are entirely means-tested. Note that the school will request documented evidence relating to family income, assets and expenditure.

Red House School 11 Plus (11+) Exam Format
The Red House School 11+ exam consists of:
- Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4)
- English writing paper
The CAT4 test aims to assess developed abilities via modules testing Verbal, Non-Verbal, Spatial and Quantitative Reasoning.
The English paper examines writing skills, including spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
