Introduction

Dauntsey’s School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school located in the village of West Lavington, Wiltshire. The school was founded in 1542 upon the will of William Dauntesey, a master of the Worshipful Company of Mercers.

Dauntsey’s School moved to its current location in 1895, with its main school campus occupying 65 acres of land. The school also has facilities on a site at Market Lavington as well, approximately 15 minutes further from the main school.

Dauntsey’s Christian ethos centres on providing a friendly and supportive atmosphere where staff and pupils are enabled to fulfil their potential and achieve their aspirations.

The school is a lively and happy place with a strong family atmosphere, where independent minds, a sense of adventure and spirituality, social responsibility and moral values are fostered. Personal growth is encouraged, both academically and otherwise.

Several core subjects are compulsory: English Language, English Literature, mathematics and science, whilst optional subjects currently on offer include art and design, history, computing, Latin, dance, music, design and technology, physical education, drama, religious studies, geography and French, German or Spanish.

The school’s clubs and societies provide pupils with a wide variety of activities including trampolining, debating, street dance, fencing, ancient Greek, triathlon, archery and robotics, to name a few. Many of the clubs on offer were started at the direct request of pupils and are run by skilled members of staff.

Friendship is what Dauntsey’s community is all about. They are formed and maintained between pupils, between staff and between pupils and staff. These informal relationships are based on mutual respect which thrives in a highly diverse environment that includes a wide range of young people with different backgrounds and talents.

Dauntsey’s School encourages tolerance and understanding. It is a place where pupils profoundly care for others and is characterised by energy, spirit, warmth and a sense of community that is immediately palpable. As such, it helps set a foundation for proactive behaviours amongst students that benefit the community, as well as society as a whole in their later years.

b) Non-Adaptive Section: Lasting ten minutes, it comprises questions with a predetermined difficulty level. It consists of the following module:

  • Puzzles & Problem Solving – this module includes interactive puzzles and diagrams. Each puzzle is accompanied by a question that the student must answer by typing in a box.
