Introduction
Claremont Fan Court School is a co-educational independent school for pupils from the ages of 2½ to 18. Located sixteen miles from London, on the historic grounds of the Claremont Estate, the school was founded and is currently governed by practising Christian Scientists.
Claremont Fan Court School is a member of the Society of Heads, the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS).
It occupies a land of 100 acres in a historic landscape and offers a broad curriculum that includes English, mathematics, science/technology, biology, chemistry, computer science, media studies, physics, arts and sports, drama, physical education, humanities, geography, history, as well as French and Spanish as language options.
Teachers, staff, pupils and their families all complement the Claremont Fan Court School Ethos which fosters an atmosphere of respect, courtesy and a love of learning. With a holistic approach towards education, the school vows to nurture all aspects of the child’s personality: the intellectual, the creative, the social, the moral, the physical and the spiritual.
Accordingly, Claremont Fan Court School invests in maintaining an active role in the community through continuous support of charities and participation in non-fundraising activities. Related activities take place across all year groups and pupils regularly take part in organising charity events.
Character education is at the centre of the educational process and tends to provide a new perspective on perceived limitations and capabilities. The programme applies a comprehensive educational approach that encourages the development of genuine relationships within the school community and teaches students to live harmoniously with each other and the natural world.
The school’s motto Be Strong in Understanding inspires them to awaken to all that is good and true around and within them in their spiritual journey of self-discovery.
