The latest addition to the Brighton College family of schools, Brighton College Prep Kensington is an independent co-educational school in London. It will formally open in September to cater for bright children aged 2 to 13, following the same curriculum as the renowned Brighton College Prep School.
Based in the heart of the capital, this new establishment will aim to provide the very best environment for both academic and non-academic development. All 8+ applicants will be formally assessed. To be considered for the tests, your child should be registered with the child first. This includes a payment of a non-refundable fee.
Subject to successful performance in the examinations, your child may be offered a place. This usually takes place at the end of January.

The Brighton College Prep Kensington 8 Plus (8+) entrance exam covers the following areas:
- English
- Mathematics
- Reasoning
All of the above subjects are assessed through standardised, multiple-choice assessments.
The English test will measure comprehension skills, such as: vocabulary; inference; your child’s ability to distinguish between factual statements and opinions; their ability to read, understand and interpret age-appropriate texts, etc.
The mathematics test will evaluate the following skills: problem-solving; measurement; fractions and decimals; basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, etc.
The Reasoning test includes Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The Verbal Reasoning section is designed to test logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary. The Non-Verbal Reasoning section measures the ability to understand, interpret and problem-solve, testing logic and intelligence rather than knowledge. This section of the exam may also include Spatial Reasoning questions.
