Introduction
Basic information: Brentwood School is an independent day and boarding school in Essex. Founded in 1557, it employs the ‘Diamond Model’ of education. The list of notable Old Brentwoods is impressive, featuring a number of diplomats, authors, professional athletes and university professors. [1]

Brentwood Prep School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions
8+ is not the school’s standard point of entry, hence admission is subject to availability of places.
If places are available, you should register your child with the school using this form. The registration fee is £100.
Assessments take place in December of the year preceding entry. If a place is offered, you will be asked to pay a deposit in order to secure it.

The Brentwood Prep School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:
- English
- Mathematics
The English exam examines comprehension and writing skills, including inference, punctuation and spelling. Marks will be awarded for good use of imagination, creativity, form, purpose, organisation, cohesion and sentence structure.
The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
