Introduction

Basic information: St George’s Weybridge is an independent co-ed day school in Surrey. Founded in 1869, the school has a Junior Department which occupies a 20-acre site. [1]

Curriculum: The core curriculum is regularly expanded with specialist teaching that currently covers French, music, art & DT, ICT and PE. The broad programme of performing arts and sporting opportunities allows children to extend their learning experience, introducing them to a variety of musical instruments and encouraging them to partake in sporting fixtures.

Co-curricular: Over 70 club activities are on offer, promoting a ‘have a go attitude’ and maximising pupils’ range of skills and interests. Everything from LAMDA and ballet to fencing and gymnastics is available, building children’s confidence at a pace that suits their abilities.

ISI Inspection report: ISI recently characterised St George’s as a place where students are actively prepared for further education, hence they successfully gain entry to schools of their choice. A strong sense of community and a culture of achievement complement the richness of school life, underpinned by a robust pastoral care system. [2]

Promoting Christian values, St George’s enables pupils to grow in mutual respect and appreciation of differences, providing them with every opportunity to mature into all-round individuals with a strong moral code. The education is both personalised and holistic, acknowledging and celebrating individual talents, whether it is in the classroom, on the sports field or on the stage.
