Introduction
BKHS is a co-educational day school in Coventry. Catering for pupils from the ages 3 to 18, it was established following the merger of two independent schools: Bablake and King Henry VIII School.
BKHS is academically selective and aims to ensure that teaching is of exceptional quality, for both core and specialist subject areas. The schools maintain a strong sporting heritage, thus sporting activities, such as swimming, yoga, wall climbing and rugby, play a major role in pupils’ all-round development.
A number of enrichment activities, including drama, orchestra and the DofE Award add up to the vibrant quality of the educational journey. Throughout the year, the school becomes a place where pupils’ masterclasses, outreach projects and performances take the spotlight and prepare them for their future academic or non-academic endeavours.
Pastorally, every member of the school’s friendly community is seen as a unique individual, with strengths and weaknesses that form their distinctive character. Consequently, the pastoral care system extensively addresses their concerns through a personalised approach, allowing them to boost leadership skills, grow in confidence and flourish in later stages of their lives.
