Introduction

Based in Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury Grammar School (AGS) is a successful grammar school for boys with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1598. Throughout the years, AGS has been the educational home to numerous prominent figures. It boasts several specialisms and caters for over 1300 pupils, providing a range of spacious facilities for this purpose. [1]

Irrespective of pupils’ background, AGS strives to deliver quality education characterised by both breadth and depth. As such, the school offers a broad curriculum, encompassing everything from languages and mathematics to technology and social sciences in an effort to provide access to a wealth of academic opportunities.

Extracurricular activities, such as swimming, Jazz Band, chess, Film Club debating and rugby, are vastly popular among students. These opportunities serve to enhance the school’s comprehensive educational offering and encourage students to adopt a positive attitude towards learning and personal growth. [2]

Led by experienced staff, drama and theatre programmes aim to enhance pupils’ emotional awareness and their capacity for self-reflection. Naturally, these after-class activities are among the cohort’s favourites, grounding them in a sense of appreciation for performing arts by teaching them how to innovate, create and explore their own identities.
