Introduction
Basic information: King Henry VIII and Bablake (BKHS) are independent day schools in Coventry. These two facilities merged in September 2021, offering an unpretentious learning environment for pupils aged 3 to 18.
Curriculum: In Years 3 and 4, children benefit from an inspiring education that spans across a range of disciplines, including computing, sport, MFL, mathematics and music. Teaching is personalised and classes are small, ensuring that the school’s approach is tailored in accordance with children’s individual needs.
Co-curricular: Pupils’ participation in after-class activities is vigorous, allowing them to develop healthy minds and bodies and acquire a range of further skills to serve them in the years to come. As such, the wealth of the co-curricular experience maximises cognitive abilities and enables children to forge lasting friendships with peers.
Forest School: BKHS offers the Forest School programme, aimed at boosting organisational skills and a profound understanding of nature’s processes. Through these activities, pupils also learn how to work in a team and effectively communicate, making the most out of the school’s extensive grounds and welcoming ethos.
The merger between these two schools continues their individual tradition of exceptional educational provision, underpinned by extensive pastoral care. The rich selection of facilities and the numerous opportunities for all-round growth allow children to develop into responsible individuals, who navigate the world beyond school with a thorough understanding of its complexities.
