Open Events are held termly, allowing you and your child to experience the friendly atmosphere on campus. Guided tours will provide you with an insight into the quality of facilities, while informal meetings with key members of the staff will familiarise you with the school’s educational philosophy. Individual tours, including a meeting with the Head, can be arranged through the Admissions Office. 

 

The Abbey School 8 Plus (8+) Admissions

  

To formally commence the admissions process, you should complete and submit the school’s application form together with a £100 non-refundable fee. 

 

8+ assessments measure your daughter’s skills across two areas of the curriculum. Following her successful performance, she may receive an offer of a place, to be accepted with a payment of a £1000 deposit.

Scholarships and bursaries are not available to Junior School applicants. 

 

The Abbey School 8 Plus (8+) Exam Format

 

The Abbey School 8 Plus (8+) exam consists of the following assessments:

  • Mathematics

 

The English assessment examines comprehension and writing skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as the fluency of your child’s reading, oral and listening skills. 

 

The Maths exam assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills, including your child’s knowledge of times tables.
